I have my home painted, something changed, like my desktop, this is my new desktop, put your mouse on it in order to see what’s on it.

This laptop was not customizable, so I received it rather quickly after ordering online from their website. The prices fluctuate on their site, so I will NOT mention how much I paid for it. I like this computer a lot. I would have preferred an NVIDIA video card, which would enable me to play more games, but the ATI Mobile Radeon video card does its justice, and for the most part, the games do run well. The numeric keypad is thinner than what I’m used to on a regular keyboard, but it works and it’s a lot easier for me to use than the other set of keys. The build quality feels a little cheap, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise now-a-days. The card reader that is in the front is just not cut properly and the CD/DVD drive seems like it will break off easily. Some of the videos I recorded to go along with this wouldn’t work or were corrupt. I’ll post some on screen videos as soon as I can. Hopefully, I can get some Team Fortress 2 videos up. after testing it extensively with my own lenses , I really think I am falling in love with the mark2 , I think the mark 2 is a much better camera than many review sites suggest in comparison to the Nikon D700. May the Nikon has a bit better AF but the Canon 5D2 does not feel slow at all in real life use and it meters better than the Nikon despite of its modest 35 zone metering.

I am not impressed with Nikon metering that is usually raved by reviews and the IQ of the D700 is not so impressive in day light or below ISO1600……………the D700 shines above that ISO though.

Just being low noise does not make it a superb camera in my not at all humble opinion.

I think any one need a bit better IQ than current top class APS-C like D300 or the 7D , the 5 D mark2 is the only option , the D700 is , in terms of pure image qualtiy, not much better than the EOS50D or 7D cause it lacks the resolution that I or many people needed for large prints and also I dislike the colors of the sensor in the D700.

And 5 f/s of the D700 is not much better than the 3.9 of the mark2, yeah with the bulky annoying grip on the 700 , it is very fast but I hate the grip ,which makes the D700 a bit bigger cam than the D3.

also , in my hands , the mark 2 felt easier to hold for a long time, I like Canon 2 dials.

I guess, as with laptops , many guys just think the heavier the better bilt body, but it is not.

the HP DV6 crap is heavier than the Dell ST XPS 16 or Lenovo Thinkpad T500 but the HP built much worse.

like that , the D700 is much bigger and heavier than the5D2 or the A900 Sony but the D700 is not built better…………..and most importantly, I hate the pop up flash in a pro class body, I am sure it makes it easier to break, I knoe ,of course, it does Nikon CLS thing but I prefer I do it with an external flash.

UPDATE: I am still on the fence between Nikon D700 and Canon 5D2, I like the 5D2 better but I do need a couple of lenses if I go for it and I dont want to do sell my lenses if I dont have to.

The D700 ISO3200 looks really usable ,without much color patterned noise in shadow.
This means I can lift the deep shadow area a bit with the D300 even at ISO3200, this is maybe more important thing in real life than 22mp of the 5d2………..

But I can`t shoot them in real dark room much so I am not 100 percent sure at ISO3200, how much more Chroma noise the 5D2 has compared to the D700.

I dont care much about the Luminance noise, IOW, I do care about noise characteristics of each cam more than actual amount of total noise.

crop ISO6400 D700(amazingly clean)

I was quite surprised how well my AFS24-120VR junk lens performed on this D700.

The same lens on my D300s and D300 was horrible, very soft all corners and even at the center.

But on this D700 full frame , this lens performed quite well even at corners and borders, also it focused quite fast without hunting, on my D90 it always hunts.

Now, I am still debating the D700 or the 5D2 , I like both but can not afford to keep both systems any more and I need to get rid of one…………….

I dont like Nikon UIF but I think the D700 may be more logical choice for me cause I need neither very high resolution nor Video………….and I already have almost all lenses for this body………and unlike my D300 ,which is now on an auction site , I like the D700 produces pleasant human skin tone and it never slow down in 14bit mode.

with that said , regardless of what negative anti-Canon kinda reviews on line said about the 5d2 AF , its AF actually is great especially in sigle servo mode, it is super fast (at least the center point).

I think it is really tough, if Iget a D700 to save a bit , I can also buy a great laptop (probably Thinkpad T400) , if I get a 5D2 , then I would have to get a cheaper laptop something like Lenovo R400 or Toshiba.

I thought I `d get another Dell but this time I avoid Dell since my just 6 months old Dell got so many issues in last 2 weeks and I sold it on line.

I think Dell XPS line is great with great support but Studio 15 line is really trashy , its build quality is horrible , support line is not reliable and it gets very hot.

I dislike HP too so I avoid all of these typical American brands now , I only trust Lenovo but Thinkpads are expensive as it is customized to match a high end Dell XPS model.

I may go for a Toshiba cause it is extremely cheap on line, with Win7 and Core i7-720 cpu..
